Davis Family #2

I really love this family - they all have a great sense of humor and are full of life, what photographer wouldn't want to capture that?  I always have fun with these three. You can see their first family photo session HERE.

Tiffany and I had been brewing 2 ideas for months and couldn't get all the ingredients together, until now.  Both her kids play baseball, and they wanted a baseball-centered photo session, but Tiffany also had what she referred to as a "crazy idea." We started the session at Tiger Town.

After the ball field, we headed over to the park for some painting.

Gabby the Ballerina

I've known Gabby since she was 12, and had the opportunity to really watch her turn into a beautiful young lady.  Until this moment, she was still "little Gabby" in my mind, adorable, helpful, giddy and fun Gabby. On her 16th Birthday we reserved a few areas of the Terrace Hotel in Downtown Lakeland to have a ballet photo session. This was when I suddenly realized she's now graceful, gorgeous, generous and extremely talented Gabby.

The Chamieh Family

I was thrilled when I talked to a fellow artist about creating an unusual photo session.  They only wanted one photo, inspired by the book "Mother," The Royal Tenenbaums, and Awkward Family Photos.  We talked about props and outfits, staging and furniture.  They arranged to purchase about 95% of what they didn't already have.

This is my element, telling a story through one simple image.  But I couldn't just take one photo.  I only took about 30 photos, though, and the setup took longer than the session did.  I am completely ecstatic with the results.

Megan's Senior Photos - Rain

I admit, I photograph my stepdaughter quite a bit.  She's gorgeous, creative, and I rarely get to hang out with her.  We shot several sessions while Megan (pronounced Mee-gun) was with us for the summer.

Alas, it rained so much, all the beautiful ideas we had were delayed over and again.  One day, I said screw it.  I had been wanting to experiment in a rainy shoot, and Megan was willing, so we got a little wet.  Then we got a lot wet.

Flint Knapping with Jason and Dave

We met Dave through many trips to the Pow-Wow, and Dave's Rock Shop both at the Auburndale Flea Market. Jason has been flint knapping for about 4-5 years now and is primarily self-taught, through trial and error (and YouTube).

This is truly Jason's favorite creative outlet... I'm constantly amazed at the idea of finding a rock, hitting it with an antler billet or another rock, and ending with a near perfect arrow or spear head. Jason seems to do this with the greatest of ease. Dave and I talked Old Florida, snakes and gators, and family, while Jason whips through a few slabs.
