I admit, I'm a fan of the old zombie flicks. Stiff, arms outstretched, dragging their feet at a slow pace, possibly moaning "Brains..."
When one of my VERY closest friends Deedre asked me to photograph their engagement session, it went something like this:
Dee: I'd really love it if you shot our engagement photos...
Me: Oh MY GOD YES!! *squee!!* I'm so super excited!
Dee: ...there's a twist. I want there to be a zombie attack...
Me: WHA? YES YES YES!!
Dee: Ok, since I'm in Washington DC, Rob and I will fly down in Feb. and we'll shoot it in Lakeland...
This is really the abridged version of the conversation. I'm sure I screamed and said "Oh my God" much more than represented here. About 50 conversations later, planning and organizing time frames, this happened.

Tyler and Jessica Thompson - Maternity Session
When Jessica contacted me to do their maternity session I was thrilled to do it! What's funny is, I have known Tyler since he was a little kid. Spider-man Pajamas little.
We had a lot of fun, and I got to know Jessica a little better, and I'm so excited to see this beautiful baby girl when she arrives! (Even more excited to photograph her!)
Thank you for letting me boss you guys around!

Noel + Ileana {Old San Juan, Puerto Rico Wedding} Video
I don't normally make wedding videos, but I happened to be lucky enough to have a DSLR camera that takes video while photographing this gorgeous elopement/wedding in Puerto Rico in December. No tripod (OMG Why?!) and no preparation to take video, this was quite impromptu. In hindsight, I'm so glad I captured this for the sweet couple.
Congratulations lovebirds!

Photography 101: a Workshop on DSLR Cameras
Raise your hand if you own a DSLR, but are afraid to turn the dial past the AUTO function?
Ok, hands down. Now, how many of you want to know what the heck an APERTURE is and what it's function is?
Confused about f-stops, shutter speeds and ISO?
Or are you just tired of looking at that one button with the stick figure running, without the opportunity of photographing a stick figure running?
It's been a long time coming, but I'm (finally!) hosting an informal, private 3-hour DSLR Photography 101 class. This will not transform you into an amazing photographer in 3 hours, but you will leave knowing a whole lot more than you did, and you won't be AFRAID of that amazing camera you own! I'll be instructing on the basics of any DSLR, and we will assess each camera and it's individual capabilities.
We will be meeting at Circle B Bar Reserve and exploring some Florida Nature as you learn to use your camera. There's no lacking subjects to photograph at Circle B, and this time of year is a great time to be photographing nature! We aren't going to hike, so we'll be taking a leisurely stroll and make lots of stops along the way to learn and have some fun. Bring a drink, to keep hydrated.
Ready to take that leap and start having fun with your camera? There's only 8 spots available, so to make your reservation, you must pay in advance.
STEP 1: e-mail kerri@KerriPercyPhotography.com with the subject: DSLR Workshop, and let me know a) what camera you have, b) what you're interested in learning, and c) how you will be paying.
STEP 2: make your $10 payment. It automatically reserves your slot, and confirmation that you're coming to the workshop.
I have 3 easy ways to pay.
- Paypal - you don't need an account to use it, and it's safe and secure by just using your debit or credit card.
- Check - you can certainly drop off a check or mail it to me, e-mail for more information.
- Cash - I don't turn away cash. It's as good as real money.
When: Saturday, February 23
Where: Circle B Bar Reserve -
4399 Winter Lake Road
Time: 2:00-5:00pm
Items to bring: your DSLR Camera, Walking Shoes, Drink

Foggy Morning Session with Megan
I've been dreaming of doing a photo session surrounded by thick, billowy fog, but something always got in the way - work, no model, etc. Foggy photo sessions are impossible to plan more than a day ahead, so when I saw the weather report, I immediately asked Megan if she was interested in getting up before dawn to make this happen. Of course, she enthusiastically agreed, and was ready to go!
I had a few locations in mind, and it all worked out so much better than I anticipated, and I'm thrilled with the look of these photos.
